Steve Ross is a fully qualified builder and has an extensive range of experience and skills to offer. He progressed from an 'on the tools' builder to senior management level and is well versed in all sectors of building and company management.
SJR Builders was originally established in 1972 by Stewart Hanna.
Formerly known as Stewart Hanna Ltd the company underwent a name change in 2019 to SJR Builders Ltd. As one of the oldest building companies in Hamilton clients can be reassured that the reputation of building excellence established in 1972 remains consistent today.
Clients can be safe in the knowledge of an excellent reputation and any work undertaken is completed to a very high standard. The high standard of their work is recognised with the large number of building industry awards they have won over the years. SJR Builders is widely recognised by industry, associated professionals and trades.
Since taking over completely in 2005 Steve has increased the high standard that clients have come to expect and grown the reputation of building perfection. The core work carried out by SJR Builders Ltd includes renovations, architecturally designed new homes, and light commercial work; including shop fit outs.
SJR Builders Ltd have completed a wide range of residential projects from the minor home repairs to the more complex builds of high end architecturally designed homes. This can often include the ability to apply the innovative thinking, ideas and products specified by architects and clients to fruition on the building site.
To ensure the expectations of clients is not only met but often exceeded, SJR Builders Ltd has developed very clear and open communication lines and regular meetings are always scheduled. A small team ensures they take a personal interest in their work and have a sense of pride in their achievements.
Steve's knowledge range of building extends from the small alteration to architecturally designed homes and is well recognised within the commercial sector for small to light commercial work, including shop fit-outs and regular on-going maintenance for a number of key clients. Steve has a very hands-on approach and treats all his clients in a very professional manner and always provides a service where the job at hand is carried out in a timely and cost-efficient manner whilst not compromising on quality or level of service.
SJR Builders operate with their own staff including qualified builders and apprentices. Clients can be assured that the person they contract with is the person who they will continue to work with during the job, no matter how big or small the job is. Building work is not contracted out to another source but will be completed by the staff employed. This ensures that a continuity of professional and high standard work is maintained at all times. The company is committed to on-going training which includes staff not only being skilled in the tools and materials they work with but being trained and competent with Site Safe and work-based First Aid. Steve employs site foremen who are all trade qualified and licensed building practitioners.
