A roof deck accessed via a striking custom-made stainless steel circular stair from the first floor living area gives panoramic views of the sea and coastline.
Large windows and door sliders along the front of the first floor open-plan living/dining area offer vistas of the beach from between the neighbouring houses. High-level windows and sections of translucent white polycarbonate cladding allow light in, while maintaining a sense of privacy. The exterior cedar slat detailing is both decorative and practical – providing privacy and shading from the summer sun.
The owners enjoy entertaining, so living spaces on these three levels ensure there is plenty of room for friends and family to visit. The three double bedrooms mean quests can stay and relax a while longer.
High ceilings, simple shapes, plenty of natural light and large sliding door sliders on both floors create a feeling of spaciousness. Crafted with a simple palette of sealed concrete and Strandboard flooring, plywood cabinetry and wall linings, bamboo feature ceiling panelling, and cedar cladding left to weather, the durability, texture, and warmth create a relaxed, low maintenance holiday home.
